Chairman of the Board of the UK Registry of Canine Behaviourists
Having graduated from Guy's Hospital in London as a registered nurse, Sheila spent six years working in the pharmaceutical industry followed by 21 years of professional medical counselling in conjunction with running her own dog training school and counselling those with pet behaviour problems. She has studied human psychology through the Open University, has completed both a post graduate Diploma in Advanced Studies and an MSc, in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling, at The University of Southampton.
A lifelong owner of animals, she now breeds English Working Springer Spaniels, has shown in breed for the past twenty years, and worked in agility and field trials. She is a member of ASAB (Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour) and CABSTG (Companion Animal Behaviour Study Group) and is a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist. She has written a series of articles for “Off Lead” ( US ) and a number of British journals and also lectures both at home and abroad on a variety of topics. She is one of the main lecturers at the annual Holistic Canine Convention in the US .
Sheila is the Chairman of the Board of the UK Registry of Canine Behaviourists, and though she mainly works with dogs, she is also qualified to help owners with a variety of companion animals favouring a holistic approach to solving problem behaviour. Her animal knowledge combined with many years of counselling experience helps owners reach an acceptable and hopefully successful solution.
