Trained at The Royal School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh with an additional Honours degree in Pathological Sciences, Nick began his professional life as a Yorkshire vet, but could not escape the nagging question; "Is that all there is to treat animals"?

So he studied homoeopathy in 1993 at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital with the Faculty of Homoeopathy, and later transferred to a pioneering course developed in Oxford by the Homoeopathic Physicians Teaching Group (HPTG), whilst moving to a newly established veterinary practice near Chichester dedicated to integrating alternative and conventional therapies.

Practicing homoeopathy for a full year before taking the 'Veterinary Membership of the Faculty of Homoeopathy' exams, Nick also became aware of the potential of acupuncture and joined the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, completing their year-long course in 1998. He was also introduced to Photonic Therapy, as a method of stimulating acupuncture points without needles, by his Chichester colleague, Peter Brown. Also in the same year, Nick gained his Membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy, and continues to lecture Doctors in Portugal on their behalf.

He regularly writes for 'Horse' and 'Dogs Today' magazines, is co-consultant to the progressive feed company Anglian Meat Products, and treats horses across the UK in addition to his own practice in Bath, Holisticvet, a holistic veterinary referral service for equines and small animals in homeopathy, acupuncture and nutritional medicine.
